I thought I was ready to visit my Mum's nitch ? (final resting place - its a box in a wall of an outdoor mausoleum) - boy was I wrong. It was more painful than I thought it would be. I don't my dad is ready yet to visit her. He broke down yesterday when he saw her housecoat hanging on the back of the door.

I miss her so much.

My mother passed away yesterday evening after a very tough battle with ovarian cancer. I, along with my sister and father, were with her. Thankfully she went peacefully in her sleep. Her last words were "I love you" which she said to my father. My parents had been together since they were 16 years old. They got married when they were 18 and never spent a day apart for 49 years.

I talked to my Mum everyday. I miss her so much.

Please everyone take care of yourselves and love your parents while you have them because someday they will be gone.

McGuinty has screwed Ontarians again

Here is a link about the new HST tax that the Ont. Gov wants to dump on us.

http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_33195.aspx

According to CHCH news it is passed and they will have the story tomorrow (they said this at the end of the news at 6)

Figure on rent, condo fees and utilities to all go up - including your internet.

McGuinty says it will save business money and they will pass that on to the consumer - what a dweeb, he is naive if he thinks that will happen. Quite the opposite will happen, they will pocket the extra money and to hell with the consumers.

I can't see how the government thinks this is good in these economic times.

off to count my pennies

No news is good news ?

News is slow in Niagara Falls. Winter does that. No one goes out.
Major story in the paper was about the TV show Jeopardy having a topic of questions that concerned Niagara Falls.
Yeah, winter - news is slow.

Your result for The Animal Archetype Test...

The Dog

Domestic, Gregarious, Serious and Emtional: you are the Dog!

Companionship, loyalty, protection. Dog medicine can often teach us how to be a good friend, the power of forgiveness, and how to love unconditionally. Dog people tend to have good intuition, keen senses and quick-learning, intelligent minds.

This test categorized you based on four different axes of personality, which were then associated with a different animal. The four axes, as well as all possible results are explained below.

Wild/Domestic: This first axis categorizes you based on how much you are drawn to the outdoors, versus how much you are drawn to civilized situations. Domesticity has many shapes and forms, and varies from the joy of dolphins leaping next to a ship to the steadfast loyalty of a family dog.

Gregarious/Solitary: This axis measures how solitary you are. If you scored high, it means that you enjoy the company of other people, while a low score indicates that you prefer a more solitary lifestyle.

Trickster/Serious: This axis measures how well you line up with conventional trickster archetypes. People who fall into this archetype have a sense of humor and an excitable, highly chaotic streak. Scoring low doesn't mean that you don't have a sense of humor; it just means that you probably don't think dynamite is very funny.

Intellectual/Emotional: This last axis determines whether you are more emotional -- acting based on feelings and instinct, or rational and intelectual -- acting more on thought than on your gut feelings.

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Balanced, Secure, and Realistic.

3 Impressionist, -4 Islamic, -3 Ukiyo-e, -4 Cubist, -3 Abstract and -9 Renaissance!

Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects. Impressionist paintings are balanced, use colored shadows, use pure color, broken brushstrokes, thick paint, and scenes from everyday life or nature.

People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.

B-52s

I went and saw the B-52s last night.
It was so much fun!
We had front row tix but were up against the stage in front of Kate Peirson the whole time.

What a blast they are.
They sound the same as always and were totally dancing around and getting into it.
I've seen video of them from last year and they were stiff and didn't dance around much but this year they were rockin'.
Pretty good for 50 and 60 years olds.
They did a mix of the new CD and their older hits.
They even did Planet Claire.

If you get a chance to see them I recommend you go...they are the ultimate party band.

Oh and the new CD is great - it is like their original stuff from the early 80's.

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You
You are sweet, mellow, and easily satisfied.
You don't like anything too intense and dramatic.
Deep down, you're a kid at heart... and you're nostalgic for the past.

You are emotionally expressive and sensitive.
You're effected by everything around you.
Your friends appreciate your open heart, but they are afraid of hurting your feelings.

You love being by yourself and thinking. Developing your own theories and ideas is fun.
You feel lost when you're forced to be social. Being with other people can be lonely for you.
